Multipositional leather violin mute engraved with a Celtic knot design. Design faces the player when the mute is in use.
Features of this innovative leather mute include:
· A unique slot and notch design that allows you to easily produce two distinctly different muting effects.
· Our all leather mute preserves the distinctive tonal qualities of your instrument. The player is better able to hear the ringing of the overtones under the ear, resulting in improved intonation and a superior muting quality when compared to rubber, wooden, and metal mutes.
· The mute can be custom fit to your instrument. Moisten the two small notches with a drop of water and then place the mute back on the strings. During the drying process, the notches will conform to the string dimensions of your instrument.

Q.: Which way does the name engraving face?
A.: The name engraving faces the player. When engaged in position II (meno sordino/mezzo soprano) our trademark violin logo faces the bridge.
Q.: Do the angled notches line up and engage with the strings?
A.: As illustrated on the diagram on the back of your package insert:
The two small notches on the underside of the mute do not touch the strings in position I (con sordino/pianissimo) when the mute is placed on top of the bridge.
The notches do engage with the strings in position II (meno sordino/mezzo piano/pinched against the bridge) and in position III (senza sordino/without muting/pushed towards the tail piece).
